ICC Hall of Fame: Overview and 2025 Inductees

What is the ICC Hall of Fame?
The ICC Hall of Fame is an exclusive honor bestowed by the International Cricket Council to recognize and celebrate the greatest cricketers and contributors in the sport’s history. Established in 2009 in collaboration with the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), it immortalizes those who have left a lasting impact on the game.


Eligibility and Selection Criteria

  • Players must be retired for at least five years before becoming eligible.
  • Batters: At least 8,000 runs and 20 centuries in either Tests or ODIs, or an average above 50 in either format.
  • Bowlers: Minimum 200 wickets in a major format, with a strike rate under 50 (Tests) or 30 (ODIs).
  • Wicketkeepers: 200 dismissals in either format.
  • Captains: At least 25 Tests and/or 100 ODIs as captain, with a win percentage of 50% or more.
  • Special inductees: Those who may not meet the above but have had a fundamental effect on the sport can be nominated by the committee (including journalists, umpires, etc.).

At a ceremony held at Abbey Road Studios, London, on June 9, 2025, the ICC inducted seven new legends into the Hall of Fame:
