The 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is the 13th edition of the tournament and will be held from September 30 to November 2, 2025, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. This marks the return of the Women’s World Cup to Indian soil after 12 years.

  • Sri Lanka:
    • R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo)

Schedule Highlights

  • Opening Match: September 30, 2025, featuring India in Bengaluru.
  • Group Stage: Round-robin format, with each team playing the others once.
  • Semi-finals:
    • First: October 29 in Guwahati or Colombo
    • Second: October 30 in Bengaluru
  • Final: November 2, 2025, in either Bengaluru or Colombo.
  • Pakistan’s Matches: Due to political agreements, all of Pakistan’s matches will be played at a neutral venue (Colombo).

Defending Champions and Format

  • Australia are the reigning champions, having won their seventh title in 2022. They are the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
  • This will be the last Women’s World Cup with an eight-team format before expansion in future editions.

Qualification

  • India qualified as hosts.
  • Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka qualified via the ICC Women’s Championship.
  • Bangladesh and Pakistan secured their spots through the 2025 Women’s World Cup Qualifier held in Pakistan.
